Bible prophecy: John 3:16

In books, movies and Internet articles, so much attention is given to the prophecies that foretell the future of the world that we sometimes overlook the prophecies that foretell our own futures, on an individual basis. Consider, for example, John 3:16, in which Jesus prophesies that anyone who believes in him will be given the gift of eternal life with God.

Jerusalem will be trampled upon

Bible prophecy: Luke 21:23-24
Prophecy written: During the first century

Jesus prophesied that the Gentiles, which is a word that refers to non-Jews, would trample upon Jerusalem until the end times.

It is interesting to note that when Jesus gave this prophecy during the first century of this era, the Jews had considerable control over the city of Jerusalem, even though they were forcibly incorporated into the Roman Empire. The Jews had a Temple in Jerusalem and were able to carry out various Temple functions associated with Judaism.

But, about 40 years after Jesus prophesied about Gentiles trampling upon Jerusalem, the Romans destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple and forced Jews into exile. Even today, nearly 2,000 years later, the Jews still do not have enough control over Jerusalem to rebuild their Temple on the Temple Mount. -


Luke 21:23-24:

23 How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! There will be great distress in the land and wrath against this people.

24 They will fall by the sword and will be taken as prisoners to all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

Jesus spoke of a day of unequaled destruction and suffering

In Matthew 24:21-22, Jesus says that there would come a time of unequaled suffering. Many people have offered their opinions about this prophecy, claiming that it has already happened, or that it is happening, or that it will happen in the future. Some opinions involve claims of widespread disease and famine, or terrorism, or nuclear war, etc. And, so, it can be easy to overlook the good news contained in this prophecy: No matter what happens in this world, no matter how bad things get, God ultimately is in control. And, as we learn from other verses, such as John 3:16, no matter what happens, those who believe in Jesus are given the gift of salvation and eternal life with God


Matthew 24:21-22:

21 For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again.

22 If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.

Before the end comes, the Gospel will be preached to the entire world

In Matthew 24:14, the Bible says that the Gospel (the news about Jesus and his offer of salvation and eternal life) will be preached throughout the world. The Bible also says that sometime after this happens, the end will come. The Bible has been preached throughout the world for a long time. But now, with the increasing worldwide availability of television and the Internet, there is greater potential for the Gospel to be preached to everyone, everywhereMatthew 24:14:

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

There will be false messiahs before Jesus returns

Jesus prophesied in Matthew 24 that there would be false messiahs before his return and history has provided us with many examples.

Perhaps the most destructive of the false messiahs was Simon bar Kochba, who unleashed such great harm on his people that the injuries are still visible today.

Kochba lived during the second century of this era. With the help of the highly revered Rabbi Akiva, who declared that Kochba was the promised messiah, Kochba organized a rebellion against the Romans who occupied and controlled the land of Israel.

The Romans, at great cost to themselves, eventually defeated Kochba's rebellion, and destroyed villages, towns and settlements throughout the land of Israel, and forced a new exile of Jews from the land of Israel, the effects of which are felt today. Even now, the majority of Jewish people live outside of the land of Israel

Matthew 24:23-25:

23 At that time if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or, 'There he is!' do not believe it.

24 For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible.

25 See, I have told you ahead of time

The "day of the Lord" will take people by surprise

Bible prophecy: 1 Thessalonians 5:1-9

In a letter addressed to the church of the Thessalonians, from Paul, Silas, and Timothy, we are reminded that the return of Jesus, which is referenced here as the "day of the Lord," will take people by surprise.

In fact, we are told that the day will come "like a thief in the night" (1 Thessalonians 5:2), during a time when people are talking about peace and safety (1 Thessalonians 5:3)


1 Thessalonians 5:1-9:

1 Now, brothers, about times and dates we do not need to write to you,

2 for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.

3 While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

4 But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief.

5 You are all sons of the light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness.

6 So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be alert and self-controlled.

7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night.

8 But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.

9 For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus' return will be unexpected

Bible prophecy: 2 Peter 3:1-18

In 2 Peter, which is the name of an epistle (letter) in the New Testament of the Bible, we are told that the return of Jesus will take people by surprise, that "the day of the Lord will come like a thief."

The author, Peter, who was one of Jesus' apostles, reminds Christians to live righteously (2 Peter 3:11 and 2 Peter 3:14) and to view the end times with joy rather than fear (2 Peter 3:12-13)

2 Peter 3:1-18:

1 Dear friends, this is now my second letter to you. I have written both of them as reminders to stimulate you to wholesome thinking.

2 I want you to recall the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets and the command given by our Lord and Savior through your apostles.

3 First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires.

4 They will say, "Where is this 'coming' he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation."

5 But they deliberately forget that long ago by God's word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water.

6 By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed.

7 By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.

9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.

11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives

12 as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat.

13 But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.

14 So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him.

15 Bear in mind that our Lord's patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him.

16 He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.

17 Therefore, dear friends, since you already know this, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of lawless men and fall from your secure position.

18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.

No one will know the hour or the day of Jesus' return

Bible prophecy: Matthew 24:36-37

When Jesus lived in the land of Israel about 2000 years ago, he gave a very simple and concise answer when someone asked him when he would return: He explained that no one knows the hour or the day, except for God the Father (Matthew 24:36).

Even so, many people throughout history have falsely insisted that they knew the timing of Jesus' return, only to be proven wrong. During the past few centuries, for example, there have been some very influential people who have misled many people with their false predictions, including:

• William Miller, who is credited with the beginning of the Adventist movement, which includes the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He claimed that Jesus would return "sometime between March 21, 1843 and March 21, 1844."

• After his prediction had failed, a colleague named Samuel Snow, claimed that the true date would be October 22, 1844. That prediction also proved false.

• Nelson H. Barbour, a Millerite Adventist who lived from 1824 to 1905, wrote a book entitled Evidences for the Coming of the Lord in 1873, and was involved in other date-setting attempts with Charles Taze Russell.

• Russell continued attempts at setting dates for the return of Jesus and spoke of invisible fulfillments. Russell is credited as being the founder of a religious organization called Jehovah's Witnesses.

• Herbert W. Armstrong, who lived from 1892 to 1986 and founded a religious organization called the Worldwide Church of God, wrote a book called 1975 in Prophecy! The book warned of a catastrophic drought, enslavement of Americans and Britons, nuclear war, and the return of Jesus as a dictator.

• Joseph Smith, the founder of a religion called Mormonism, claimed that Jesus would return by 1891

Jesus will return (to judge the living and the dead

In Matthew 24:29-31, as well as in other places within the New Testament, Jesus revealed about 2000 years ago that he will return in the future to judge the living and the dead. This is a core Christian belief that is reflected in the Apostles' Creed, which is a summary of Christian beliefs that was written many centuries ago. The Apostles' Creed is recited by Christians during Christian worship services.

Matthew 24:29-31:

29 "Immediately after the distress of those days " 'the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.'

30 "At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory.

31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

The End of the World - Continued 2

When the lamp burning with an inextinguishable fire,
Will be found in the temple of the Vestals,
Infant found fire, water passing through the sieve,
Nimes, Toulouse perish [in] water, the market to collapse.

(Century 9, Quatrain 9 )

This quatrain seems to be describing a nuclear power plant or nuclear missile facility. This accounts for the lamp burning with an inextinguishable fire and the water passing through the sieve. The words “infant found fire” imply some kind of mistake is made. The original temple of the Vestals is in Rome and may be the target of a missile. This quatrain also seems to allude to some kind of stock market collapse and flooding in France.

Northern wind will cause the siege to be raised,
Over the walls to throw ashes, lime chalk and dust,
Through rain afterwards, which will do them much harm,
Meanest assistance against their frontier.

(Century 9, Quatrain 99)

This particular quatrain also seems to allude to some sort of nuclear accident and the fall out afterwards “rain afterwards, which will do them much harm.”

There will be peace, union and change,
Estates and offices low [are] high, those high [made] very low:
To prepare for a journey torments the first offspring,
War to cease, civil processes, debates.

(Century 9, Quatrain 66)

This quatrain also refers to a period of peace, with changes difficult to implement for the first generations forced to put them in effect.

The human realm of Angelic offspring,
Will cause its realm to hold in peace and union:
War captive halfway inside its enclosure,
For a long time peace will be maintained for them.

(Century 10, Quatrain 42)

Some have interpreted angelic offspring to mean that aliens will descend and mate with humans creating a new super race.

When will all of this happen? It appears that the end of the world begins the year that the great seventh number is accomplished …

The year the great seventh number is accomplished,
Appearing at the time of the great games of slaughter:
Not far from the age of the great millennium,
When the dead will come out of their graves.

(Century 10, Quatrain 74)

This quatrain has driven many numerologists and scholars mad as they try and divine the true meaning of the number 7. Some have interpreted to mean that the quatrains make sense if every seventh quatrain is read in order like a narrative. Many have interpreted it to mean the year 2007 and still others 2070 which according to other Nostradamus quatrains is the year when World War III ends and the years of peace that lead to the end of the world begin!

Will Our Future Be Like This?

We make our own future, but with the world currently is ruled by HATE , jealous, greed, etc, no wonder many men with power choose to use their power to “DO” what they “think” is right…

Unless human race can change their heart, forgiving, compassionate, care about others, not thinking 24/7 all about “ONESELF”, there will ALWAYS be a war in our world.

The End of the World - Continued

After Armegeddon, there appears to be a period of peace.

The gods will make it appear to the humans,
That they will be the authors of a great conflict:
Sword and lance before heaven is observed as serene,
So that on the left hand there will be great affliction.

(Century 1, Quatrain 91)

The sword and the lance refers to Russia. The new wars near the end of the next century may have to do with Russia.

Too much the heavens weep for the Androgyne procreation,
Near the heavens human blood shed:
Because of death too late a great people re-created,
Late and soon comes the awaited help

(Century 2, Quatrain 45)

The androgyne progreation refers to the word androgynous. This sentence is often thought to refer to damage from bioengineering and cloning. There also seems to be a battle fought in the sky, perhaps between satellites or space ships.

When the eclipse of the Sun will then be,
The monster (divine omen) will be seen in plain daylight:
Quite otherwise will one interpret it,
High price unguarded: none will have provided for it.

(Century 3, Quatrain 34)

The monster (divine omen) may be the shards of the moon or a great comet. Some also interpret this as alien invasion or a missle.

The trembling of the earth at Mortara,
The tin islands of St. George half sunk;
Drowsy with peace, war will arise,
At Easter in the temple abysses opened.

Mortara is in Lombardy Italy and during the Crusades was a popular resting spot for pilgrims and boasts a huge gothic church.

(Century 9, Quatrain 31)

The Temple of Vesta In Rome - Target of nuclear attack?

The End of the World

Nostradamus first wrote of the end of the world in his famous letter to Henry II. You can read this letter in its entirety in Part 5, Section 11 of this book.

“Then the great empire of the Antichrist will begin where Attila and Xerxes descended (Central Asia and Persia/Iran)—in numbers great and countless, so many that the coming of the Holy Ghost, proceeding from the 48th degree will make a transmigration, driving out the abomination of the Antichrist [who is] making war against the Royal who will be the great Vicar of Jesus Christ, and against his Church, and his reign for a time and to the end of time.”

“And this will be preceded by a solar eclipse more dark than any since the creation of the world..., and there shall be in the month of October some great movement and transference and it will be such that one will think that the Earth has lots its natural movement, and that it will be plunged into the abyss of perpetual darkness; there will be initial omens in the spring, and extraordinary changes in rapid succession thereafter, reversals of kingdoms and mighty earthquakes, with the increase of the new Babylon..., augmented by the abomination of the first Holocaust, and it will last no less than 73 years and 7 months...”

“And then great peace will be established, union and concord between the children of the frontiers who have been gathered and separated by diverse reigns...”

There are also specific quatrains, reading much like the Book of Revelatons, that describe the aftermath of some kind of holocaust triggered by the battle of Armegeddon that pits the Chinese against Americans.

These quatrains appear to pick up after a bomb has been dropped and others suggest climate changes and changes in the earth’s position in the heavens.

For forty years the rainbow will not appear;
For forty years it will be seen every day:
The arid earth will grow more dry,
And great floods when it will be seen.

(Century 1, Quatrain 17)

This quatrain speaks of an extreme climate change. Many have interpreted it to mean that the earth will shift on its axis

You will see, sooner and later, great changes made,
Extreme horrors and vengeances:
For as the moon is thus led by its angel,
The heavens draw near to the reckoning.

(Century 1, Quatrain 56)

This quatrain suggests that horrors will be near as the moon appears closer to the earth. It might somehow describe the destruction of the moon as it is led by its angel towards a day of reckoning.

Pestilences extinguished, the world becomes smaller,
For a long time the lands will be inhabited in peace:
People will travel safely through the sky (over) land and wave:
Then wars will start anew.

(Century 1, Quatrain 63)

The United States shall rescue England from the siege of Muslim and Italian league by fighting on the water.

In the grassy fields of Alein and Varneigne
Upon Mount Lebron near Durance
Conflict between two sides shall be very fierce
Mesopotamie shall fall on French soil

(Century 3, Quatrain 99)

Mesopatamie describes the ancient region which is now Iran and Iraq. The U.S. and Britain will defeat the Muslims on French soil.

By River Danube and Rhine shall come to drink
The great Camel which shall not repent
Trembling is River Rhone and most violent for those near River Loire
And near Alps the Cock shall ruin them

(Century 68, Quatrain 68)

The Comet Halle Boppe reflected in the waters of the River Loire - the scene of an apocalyptic devastation during World War III.

The Muslims will retreat to Germany before they leave Western Europe entirely. However despite this the Arab armies will be beaten back to their own lands in the Middle East.

In the fields of Media, Arabe, and Armenia
Two great armies shall assemble three times
Near the Arabic shore or Persian Gulf
The Israelites on land shall tumble

(Century 3, Quatrain 31)

There will be three great battles before the Muslims are beaten back to the Middle East. Unfortunately this quatrain also predicts great suffering for the Jews who will be caught in this conflict.

At the end of the European War…

Saturn and Mars in Leo, Spain captive
Lybian chief in the battle shall be caught
Near Malta, the heralded Prince Henry shall be cheered
And Roman Scepter shall be struck by a Frenchman

(Century 5, Quatrain 15)

The pope (the Roman Sceptor) shall be killed near the end of the War by a French Assassin. Spain shall surrender. Prince Henry (or perhaps Prince Harry of England) shall be heralded in Malta.

At the great battle of Armageddon
Shall join the crusade through rows totally attached
The pertanious army of God against the army of the evil Serpent
The Dragon shall be loosened on October third

(Century 9, Quatrain 62)

The Dragon might be a metaphor for Chinese troops. The final battle of Armageddon. begins on October third and the, Iranian leader shall be captured on October 7th 2025 indicating that this great decisive battle might be between Western allies and Muslim alliance. The national symbol of China has always been the Red Dragon.

World War 3 - Continued 3

Spain and Italy shall quickly fall into Muslim hands and later become Eastern allies.

Egypt trembles due to Muslim extremist faction
A public officer renders a loud cry before committing suicide

Muslims will destroy the French fleet in the Adriatic Sea. The Muslim governments will dominate the region. A hapless world leader will commit suicide.

A great army from Barcelona by sea shall attack
All Marseilles shall tremble with fear
Islands shall be seized, reinforcement from the sea halted
Traditors shall swim in land

(Century 3, Quatrain 88)

After defeating French navy in Adriatic Sea, the Muslims shall advance to Marseilles through Spain. Marseilles shall be vulnerable due to no protection from French navy. Nostradamus also describes a flight of refugees from France.

Throughout Marseilles the inhabitants shall change
French citizens shall flee as far as Lyon
Narbonne and Toulouse shall become outraged by Bordeaux
Killed, captured, almost one million French

(Century 1, Verse 72)

The present total population of Marseilles, Narbonne and Toulouse is approximately one million people, which hopefully is not testimony to the accuracy of Nostradamus. France will totally be defeated by the Muslims.

This next quatrain speaks of chemical warfare.

Upon Mount Bailley and Bresse
Shall be hidden in Genoa fierce weapons
Beyond Lyon and Vienna, great hail upon them
Languished on the ground, less than one third shall survive

(Century 9, Quatrain 7=69)

Great Britain shall also suffer floods and war.

Great Britain including England
By sea shall suffer great floods
The new league including Italy shall raise war against her
Italy herself shall dress all her wounds

The new league mentioned is the alliance of Iran Italy, Russia, and Spain.

USA shall exert a great effort
Across the Atlantic Ocean to open English shore
The sovereignty of England shall be reinstated
As London is trembling in discovering enemy sails

(Century II, Quatrain 68)

World War 3 - Continued 2

Muslims, wars, the Day of the Lord, the Harlot, the Lioness Beast
The reign of the Church from the sea shall be succumbed
Toward Iran one shall see nearly one million troops
Turkey, Egypt, evils shall invade

The invasion from the Muslim countries n shall occur on Mediterranean shores. According to Nostradamus World War II then progresses to an invasion of the Italian coast.

From Monaco as far as Sicily
All the coast demolished and desolate
There shall not be any more suburb, city, nor village
That the Muslim invaders shall leave undone

Century 2, Quatrain 4)

During continuing unrest in the Middle East, one of the leaders will be able to get a hold of a nuclear bomb. Given current events, the suspect is probably the leader of Iran. The European Mediterranean coast, particularly that of Italy and France, will be almost uninhabitable once this bomb is exploded,

Russian troops will then join the attack.

The Russians through a military good fortune
Shall be elevated to a high degree
Shall change their prince, one born in a province
Shall pass sea, troop shall climb over high mountains

(Century 5, Quatrain 26)

Nostradamus predicts that Russia will attack Italy from the south near the Black Sea and from the north by crossing the Alps.

The mass shall approach coming from Russia
The ancient Destroyer shall ruin the city
Violently desolated Romanie shall see
Afterwards the great flame of war shall not be quenched

(Century 4, Quatrain 82)

Rome will be destroyed, prompting World War II.

In the great Empire with everyone’s existence hung in desperation
One over the others shall secure it
But little time shall last for his reign and existence
Two years the navy shall be rotten due to poor maintenance

(Century 10, Quatrain 32)

However it seems that the war will be too much for Russia and that victory is short lived. This quatrain describes a broken down empire and a navy that withdraws due to poor upkeep.

Norway and Denmark and British island
Through the united brothers shall be vexed
The Roman (Italian) chief issued from French blood
And his troops shall be repulsed into the forests

(Century 6, Quatrain 7)

This quatrain describes battles between the allies of Norway, Denmark and Britains and Muslims who set foot on French soil. Meanwhile at sea the French fleet will be surrounded by enemies.

By negligence French fleet shall be attacked by five parties
Tunisia and Algeria stirred up by Iran
Leon, Seville, Barcelonia shall fall (into Muslim hands)
Italian fleet shall not fare any better

(Century 1, Quatrain 73)

World War 3 - Continued

As mentioned before, Arethusa may be the name of a ship or a missile. It appears to be an anagram.

The Eastern kings shall carry out the Divine Justice.
Turkey shall be devastated.

(Century 10, Quatrain 72)

This in essence has already happened with the defeat of Iraq.

The regions subjected to Muslim armies
Shall cause mountains trembling with great war
Prisoners of both sexes and throughout Turkey
One shall cry at dawn from land to land

(Century 5, Quatrain 70)

There seems to be a terrible misunderstanding occur in the following quatrains

The fire by night will take hold in two lodgings,
Several within suffocated and roasted.
It will happen near two rivers as one:
Sun, Sagittarius and Capricorn all will be reduced

(Century 2, Quatrain 35)

This sounds like a terrorist attack. After this there will be a dispute between two great world leaders.

A great number will be condemned
When the monarchs will be reconciled:
But for one of them such a bad impediment will arise
That they will be joined together but loosely.

(Century 2, Quatrain 36)

This describes the downfall or unpopularity of on one of the leaders. Unfortunately real-life evidence points to George Bush as the culprit --as the leader with the impediment (lack of support from his people.)

The following quatrain bodes that World War III may be closer than we think. Its arrival is heralded after the fall of the Republican Party in the United States.

One year before the Italian conflict,
Germans, Gauls, Spaniards for the fort:
The republican schoolhouse will fall,
There, except for a few, they will be choked dead.

(Century 2, Quatrain 38.)

The Republican schoolhouse is the U.S. government, which is at its lowest popularity ever in history at the time of writing.

After the Republican government in the United States is voted out of a power quatrain indicates a planned invasion from a Muslim country.

World War III

Nostradamus wrote of a great war in his quatrains, which have been previously discussed in other sections in this book. This gives you an idea of how these quatrains are normally put together by scholars to progress to describe the progress of World War III>

The year 1999 seven month,
From the sky will come a great King of terror:
To bring back to life the great King of Angolmois, (the Mongols),
Before after Mars to reign by good luck

(Century 10, Quatrain 72)

This is the quatrain that describes the attack on the World Trade Center in New York. . This holy terror could be linked to the Third Antichrist who may be the fearsome Mabus (sometimes interpreted as Mr. Bush) or the North African Terrorist from the quatrain below.

One who the infernal gods of Hannibal
Will cause to be reborn, terror of mankind
Never more horror nor worse of days
In the past than will come to the Romans through Babel.

(Century 2, Quatrain 30)

Many interpreters have tried to understand the prophetic significance of Nostradamus bringing back to life The King of the Monghols. Genghis Khan was the last great Mongol. The vast Islamic western wing of his empire included modern-day Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, and the Central Asian republics of the former Soviet Union.

According to the prophet, Genghis Khan and his empire are now returning in another incarnation. Eerily 1990, the leaders of the People’s Republic of China restored Genghis Khan to his “rightful” place in Chinese history.

In the following his quatrain indicates that it will be preceded by the coming of the Third Antichrist from the East, “the king of the Mongols,”

At forty-five degrees, the sky will burn,
Fire approaches the great new city,
Immediately a huge, scattered flame leaps up
When they want to have verification from the Norman

(Century 5 Quatrain 97)

In this phrase, Nostradamus refers to a great city in the new world of America near forty-five degrees latitude. Experts agree this could only be New York.

The incident in New York is followed by the quatrains that describe the end of the world. The verification from the Norman may be an odd reference to France’s refusal to support the Iraq War.

The king will want to enter the new city,
Through its enemies they will come to subdue it
Captives liberated to speak and act falsely,
King to be outside, he will keep far from the enemy.

(Century 10, Quatrain 49)

This is a very frightening allusion to terrorism being near but also far away. There is also an implication that traitors have been set free (captives librated to speak and act falsely)

Garden of the world near the new city,
In the path of the hollow mountains,
It will be seized and plunged into the Vat,
Drinking by force the waters poisoned by sulfur

(Century 10, Quatrain 49)

This quatrain speaks of some calamity that poisons the water supply. The garden of the world near the new city (New York) might be Washington.

By fire he will destroy their city,
A cold and cruel heart,
Blood will pour,
Mercy to none.

Earth-shaking fire from the center of the Earth.
will cause the towers around the New City to shake,
Two great rocks for a long time will make war,
And then Arethusa will color a new river red.

(Century 1, Quatrain 87)

Nostradamus Predictions For The Future

1. Los Angeles Earthquakes


Everyone from physicists to evangelists to prophets have been predicting “the big one” since the San Francisco was devastated in 1906.

The sloping park, great calamity,
Through “the Lands of the West and Lombardy
The fire in the ship, plague and captivity;
Mercury in Sagitarius, Saturn fading.

(Century 10, Quatrain 79)

Lombardy is in Italy and the Lands of the West possibly refers to the New World. This quatrain seems to suggest that the earthquakes will occur in these places. According to astrologers the next time that Mercury will be in Sagittarius and Saturn in a “fading” position will be on November 25, 2015; then on November 23, 2016; and again on December 7, 2044.

Who Was Nostradamus?

Nostradamus, the author of the famous Centuries, was an unusual man for his time. He was a practicing physician, astronomer and astrologer who lived in the mid 16th century (1503 – 1566) who turned his hand to prophecy later in life. As a physician he treated those suffering from the Bubonic plague and then in a twisted irony lost the members of his family to the disease. He was a devout student of pagan methods of divination at night who wore the mask of a devout Catholic during the day to avoid persecution from the Spanish Inquisition. In the end he predicted his own death, and some say also cursed the marauders from the French Revolution that he foresaw would desecrate his own burial tomb.

Nostradamus wrote messages from the past to the future in the form of short poems consisting of four lines each called Quatrains. In his lifetime Nostradamus completed a total of 942 quatrains, which he organized into groups of 100 quatrains called Centuries. However one century only has 46 quatrains.

His followers say he predicted the French Revolution, the birth and rise to power of Hitler, and the assassination of John F. Kennedy. He also predicted other events, such as the Great Fire of London (1666) and the exile of Napoleon to Alba. His cryptic missives about the future seem almost exponential in their ability to reveal about current event. Recently the writings of Nostradamus have been shown to reveal the destruction of the space shuttle Challenger to the destruction, the death of Lady Diana and the destruction of the Twin Towers on 9/11/01. The fact that so many of his grimmest predictions in the past have indeed come true has given him the nickname “The Prophet of Doom.”

After he resigned from treating the victims of the bubonic plague and settled down in a psychic studio in Salon, France, this self-styled soothsayer was in the habit of writing long letters to world leaders warning them of future events, that is until the Vatican decided that magicians were evil. The fact is that Nostradamus did indeed qualify as a magician according to the definitions of those days, which was anyone who produced visions and predictions through scrying. Scrying was considered to be a form of conjuring spirits and Nostradamus taught himself this skill by reading ancient texts about Egyptian and Alexandrian magic.

Unfortunately this great prophet also lived during the time of the Spanish inquisition. Conjuring spirits (or channeling as we call it today) was a crime punishable by death, which meant that he was force to scramble up the meaning and the order of his quatrains so that he could not be tried and executed for being a soothsayer. Even though his quatrains are divided up into books called Centuries they do not chronologically represent the timeline of any centuries. Scrambling the quatrains so that they did not follow a time line was one of the tricks that Nostradamus used to disguise his work as the ramblings of a mad poet. This explains why when you read the quatrains, he seems to be referring to incidents from all of the centuries at the same time.

The rhymed quatrains of Nostradamus were written mainly in French with a bit of Italian, Greek, and Latin thrown in to throw the Spanish Inquisition off if they should ever discover his manuscripts. This is because the Spanish Inquisition had been dealing with metaphysical literature by holding public burnings in the public squares.

To disguise his own metaphysical manuscripts also used words from the “Languedoc” or Provencal dialect of southern France and swaps words around so that the quatrains don’t make sense. That is why so many of his prophecies are left wide open to interpretation and also great debate, particularly among English speaking scholars who have a habit of interpreting the quatrains with the French phrases that suit them best. In this book we are using the public domain verses of Charles Ward, an English scholar who was one of the first to translate the quatrains from the original Latin, French and other dialects and leave them as naked as possible.

The result of all of Nostradamus secret magical studies, pagan rituals, coding and conjuring is the Ten Centuries. Each Century is one of the most cryptic longest and most poetic letters ever written to citizens of the future. The quatrains consist of a mystic vision that was capable of scanning events that would take place over thousands of years. The quatrains are in essence missives from a prophet who was directly warning both you and me of the apocalypse to come.

Slip-Slop-Slap-BANG!

We all know the Earth is surrounded by a magnetic field that sheilds us from most of the sun's radiation. What you might not know is that the magnetic poles we call north and south have a nasty habit of swapping places every 750,000 years or so - and right now we're about 30,000 years overdue. This one's case of bog-simple maths mathematics. Physicists at Berekely Uni have been crunching the numbers. and they've determined that the Earth is well overdue for a major catastrophic event. Even worse, they're claiming their calculations prove, that we're all going to die, very soon - while also saying their prediction comes with a certainty of 99 percent- and 2012 just happens to be the best guess as to when it occurs.

Super Volcano

Yellowstone National Park in the United States is famous for its thermal springs and Old Faithful geyser. The reason for this is simple - it's sitting on top of the world's biggest volcano, and geological experts are beginning to get nervous sweats. The Yellowstone volcano has a pattern of erupting every 650,000 years or so, and we're many years overdue for an explosion that will fill the atmosphere with ash, blocking the sun and plunging the Earth into a frozen winter that could last up to 15,000 years. If having scientists warning us about the end of the world isn't bad enough,religious folks are getting in on the act aswell. Interpretations of the Christian Bible reveal that the date for Armageddon, the final battle between Good an Evil, has been set down for 2012. The I Ching, also known as the Chinese book of Changes, says the same thing, as do various sections of the Hindu teachings

The Atom Smasher

Scientists in Europe have been building the world's largest particle accelerator. Basically its a 27km tunnel designed to smash atoms together to find out what makes the Universe tick. However, the mega-gadget has caused serious concern, with some scientists suggesting that it's properly even a bad idea to turn it on in the first place. They're predicting all manner of deadly results, including mini black holes. So when this machine is fired up for its first serious experiment in 2012, the world could be crushed into a super-dense blob the size of a basketball.

Sun Storms

Solar experts from around the world monitoring the sun have made a startling discovery: our sun is in a bit of strife. The energy output of the sun is, like most things in nature, cyclic, and it's supposed to be in the middle of a period of relative stability. However, recent solar storms have been bombarding the Earth with so much radiation energy, it's been knocking out power grids and destroying satellites. This activity is predicted to get worse, and calculations suggest it'll reach its deadly peak sometime in 2012

Mayan Calendar

The first mob to predict 2012 as the end of the world were the Mayans, a bloodthirsty race that were good at two things:
Building highly accurate astrological equipment out of stone and Sacrificing Virgins.
Thousands of years ago they managed to calculate the length of the lunar moon as 329.53020 days, only 34 seconds out. The Mayan calendar predicts that the Earth will end on December 21, 2012. Given that they were pretty close to the mark with the lunar cycle, it's likely they've got the end of the world right as well.
